Come to the waters;
And you who have no money,
Come, buy and eat!
Come buy and eat
Come, buy wine and milk
Without money and without cost.
Why spend money on what is not bread,
And your labor on what does not satisfy?
Listen, listen to me, and eat what is good
And your soul will delight in the richest of fare.”
“The Spirit and the bride say, “Come” And let the one who hears say, “Come” Let the one who is thirsty come; and let the one who wishes, take the free gift of the water of life.”
It is here that I learned that one cannot receive God’s comfort if you are seeking comfort elsewhere. It is I who must come to him! You cannot look for final comfort in worldly things or personal relationships. The verse says; “Why and where are you spending your time and money on what is not bread?” “Why do you give yourself to things that tear you down and that do not build you up?”
Remember that God wants to comfort you. “Come to the water, stand by my side, I know you are thirsty, you won’t be denied. I saw every teardrop when in darkness you cried, and I strove to remind you it was for those tears I die”. Thus, Jesus said, “So, come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens. I will give you rest”.
Here is the invitation. I MUST COME TO YOU IF I AM TO EXPERIENCE GOD’S COMFORT!
