Isaiah 55: 8-9, 10-11
neither are your ways my ways.”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
"As the rain and snow
come down from heaven, and do not return to it
without watering the earth
and making it bud and flourish,
so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater,
so it is my word that goes out of my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
Now we can understand what it means to trust in His word. He sees the future in ways that I cannot see. We trust that His word will accomplish what he desires. Just as rain falls from the heaven, we know that it will water the earth. When God speaks he will continue to work in the hearts of people. I choose to trust in Him in a relationship of love. So, in order to be comforted, I must come to Him, I must hear Him, I must seek him, and I must place my trust in Him.
