So when the Mega Pacas arrived, they were the closest to a yard sale I had ever been to, you could find great bargains, but there were neighbors to talk with, share a friendly chat over a cup of tea while browsing, something was missing. Sigh!
So you can only imagine how EXCITED I was to learn that we were having a Community Yard Sale at U.C.G. a few years ago! The first year I only took a few Q’s with me, not really knowing what to expect. Well I found a very cute wall accent that now hangs over my bed! It was perfect and just the touch my bedroom needed for it to look completed!
Last year I picked up a cute and super comfortable pair of gray high heeled pumps, and an adorable, brand name, shorts-jumper that I love to wear at the beach. I also found a scrumptious Christmas Scented Yankee Candle. It was almost half way down, but being the kind of person who sees the glass half full I bought it! I burned it all December and sill have enough left for one more season! Yay!
The U.C.G. Yard Sale not only provided me with some great finds, but also has that sense of “Community” I was looking for. Chatting with the vendors, catching up with old friends, getting to hear great stories from some of our older church members all in a safe environment. Plus they also sell yummy homemade treats. It’s a Win-Win all around if you ask me!
This year’s Community Yard Sale is this weekend, Saturday May 27, from 9 to 12, and I am SO looking forward to see what treasures I find. Plus I hear they will be selling fruit smoothies this year!
