For those of us who are able to attend the Thursday morning Bible Study we looked recently at what it means to be called "His People". We read in Genesis the beginning of history of God's people. We looked at multiple passages noting how special it is to be God's people and how we are all God's people; not just the Israelites, but He calls all peoples from all nations to be His. We read in our study book that the people of God started with 1 family and then under Moses the people of God became a nation. Then when Jesus came to earth He made a way for all humans to become a part of His people, His family, and especially those "who were once far off" might be "brought near" (Eph. 2:13).
God calls those who are least likely, in our eyes, to be victorious to be His and more so to be crowned with victory. And if you've been following Christ for any amount of time you know that we are all not deserving to be victorious but if we humble ourselves before Him and recognize what He has done for us He is the one who makes us victorious. And to make that victory even better, He delights in us just as a parent delights in their child!
