Worship Services
People are different with varying tastes. That is why we design various styles of worship, helping everyone to worship our one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Please feel free to visit any or all of the Services. And if you have more questions, please ask them. We are here to serve you!
Sunday Contemporary 8:15 AM:
This service includes a Praise Band, contemporary Christian rock music, hand clapping and the same message as at the Traditional Service. It usually lasts 1 hour 15 minutes.
Sunday Traditional 11:00 AM:
This is a liturgical, formal or traditional style of worship. It uses hymns and creeds and lasts 1 hour.
Sunday Night Worship Experience 6:00 PM:
This Sunday evening Service is smaller and meets in Holman Hall around tables, candle lit and cozy. Refreshments are available all through the service. It incorporates the best of Christian worship for the past 2000 years! We have a kneeling area where you can pray and light a candle. We have an art center where you can paint or draw if you prefer to worship God through artistic expression. The music is always varied, incorporating hymns, Christian rock, traditional chants or response music, etc. Communion is always observed each Sunday. The attendees at this service tend to be 80% young people in their 20's and 30's, though many of our older people love the spontaneous interactive worship, as well. The Worship Experience service gathers at 6 PM to meet and talk informally and then begins around 20-25 minutes later. It usually ends around 7:30 PM.
Thursday Contemplative 12:15 PM:
This service meets mid-day on Thursdays from 12:15 PM -12:45 PM. It is a Communion Service with 2 songs, from hymns and the Taize worshipping community in France. The service has an Old and New Testament reading and a brief 8 minute message, always different from the Sunday messages. There are long pauses built in to allow moments for contemplating the Scripture and music. The Contemplative Service always closes with Communion.
Sunday School 9:45 AM:
This is an educational hour to supplement understanding the Bible for all ages, from Nursery to adults. The children's curriculum is fun, fast paced and very much a "hands-on" learning experience, much like the "Kids Blast" event you attended. Adult Sunday School offerings recently included a study on how to handle critical people, another 5 week series on how Philosophers have impacted our faith, a discussion on how the Church can impact Guatemala, studies from books of the Bible.
