The Lesson for this Week
Hi everyone, I hope you all had a great week.
First off, I have dropped off all the boxes that were reserved for the next unit which begins next Sunday. There are a few missing printouts that will be placed in the appropriate boxes tomorrow morning, so if you plan to get yours during the morning services please just verify with the secretary, Cynthia, that yours has been completed (you will need to work with her or Helen to receive your box). Also, I made one extra box so if you wanted one but didn't sign up in time please let me know. It is first come first serve.
I will admit it was quite strange going back to the church, as I hadn't been since last March and I was a bit sad, but it was strangely reassuring to know everything quite literally looked the same, in that the calendar was still last March, haha. I can't wait to see our room full again with students and teachers and crafts galore.
This week we learn in our lesson with Alicia exactly what it means to treasure God's Word in our heart like Psalm 119:11 says. She has a great craft in which you will need just a small empty box of any kind, some pieces of paper of any color, and crayons, markers, or paint. Also, for any older students looking for more of a challenge here is a video on how to make an origami heart box (you'll just need a square piece of paper). Due to the nature of this lesson we do not have the other LifeWay activities, thus there is no link to the curriculum nor are there any printouts.
Lastly, don't forget there is a prize for any students who memorize our key verse this unit, James 1:5 (you can do a 2 for 1 and pick up both your prize and craft box this week.) Send me a video of your kids reciting their verse before next Sunday to receive a prize.
You can find our weekly lessons and all the activity pages on the Union Church website along with our Kids Worship Guide that you can utilize each Sunday during service both online and in person at UCG.
Please let me know if you have any problems picking up your craft box or if you need anything else.
Blessings,
Abby
